Our Staff Commitment
Could Prism be the right fit for you?
It is a deep value of Prism that working to liberate the most oppressed of us leads to the freedom of all of us.

Staff at Prism are committed to the work of providing decolonized therapy and striving to work in alignment with our agency values. That means unlearning, relearning, listening, and embodiment of the work required to exist in an anti-racist, pro-black, pro-LGBTQIA+, pro-disability manner. We ask our staff to engage in challenging their actions, thoughts, and behaviors and lean into the discomfort of being an active participant in this work. Staff at Prism engage deeply in honesty, accountability, and self-reflection to grow in their liberation work.

We look for staff who are interested in:
-
Making space for difficult conversations
-
Being open and interested in feedback
-
Being aware and mindfully engaging with the ways white supremacy impacts each of us
-
Practicing accountability in a way that builds community and honors humanity
-
Engaging in personal growth and feeling rooted in a "life long learner" stance
-
Engaging with others from a brave space and one of deep listening
-
Acknowledging and valuing differences
-
Unlearning and learning together
-
Rejecting binary thinking
-
Rejecting competition and the concept of ”winning”
-
Able to identify and challenge when they are engaging in over/under accountability
-
Avoiding trying to control the other person & their reaction
-
Remaining curious over judgmental
-
Holding multiple truths at once
-
Focusing on strengths and try to find common ground
