OVW Case Manager
Prism is seeking a Part-Time to Full-Time Case Manager to work 20 hours a week at the rate of $27/hour.
The OVW Case Manager will be an employee of Prism Counseling and Advocacy who works on-site with our partner agency, IOOV, to provide case management and assistance to LGBTQ+ BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) crime victims. The primary function of this position is to provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered case management services to LGBTQ+ BIPOC individuals who have experienced violence, including domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, harassment, hate crimes, and other forms of harm. This position reports directly to Prism’s Director of Survivor Services and receives on-site task supervision from IOOV’s Director of Anti-Violence Services.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 1 year of experience in the Mental Health field, Substance Abuse treatment field, or medical office that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Demonstrative abilities with administrative and clerical procedures

Full comprehension of office management systems and procedures, particularly Microsoft Office

Strong computer and Internet research skills

Exemplary planning, logistics, and time management skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload in order to meet deadlines

Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills, including reporting skills

Has ability to work independently with minimum supervision yet has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with all levels of internal management staff

Responsibilities:
-
Provide advocacy and support to LGBTQ+ BIPOC victims of crime via emergency assistance, information & referrals, emotional support, accompaniment to legal and/or health and human service appointments, assistance with compensation claim applications, follow up and other case management related tasks as assigned

Staff In Our Own Voices LGBT domestic violence Support Line in collaboration with IOOV AVS staff/Director.

Attend local and regional Anti-Violence task forces/coalition meetings

Prepare client evaluations, including obtaining and analyzing data and developing service plans

Networking with outside providers for creation and maintenance of resource directory
-
Responsible for intake coordination for new clients when appropriate.

Perform record-keeping functions as required, including case notes and census statistical reports. Input into the organization's database in a timely manner while making sure all records are maintained at a confidential level.

Establish rapport and professional relationship with stakeholders and provide consultation to community-based advocates.

Assist clients in establishing relationships with outside services.

Identify and attend training for professional development and attend departmental in-service meetings as required

Attend regular staff meetings and participate in case consultation and multidisciplinary team meetings as necessary

Assists with trainings and educational presentations to DV/SA programs, health & human service agencies, community organizations and others when needed

Perform other tasks as delegated by Director of Survivor Services and/or Director of Anti-Violence Services​
